At Green Wedding Boutique we are committed to reducing our environmental impact or carbon footprint by monitoring energy, waste and water. We believe that Weddings and Events should not be throw away, or cost the Earth. Weddings can be green and beautiful. We are committed to buying British Flowers from local growers as much as the seasons allow. We work with the seasons and what colours and scents they have to offer.
Our Gas and Electricity is supplied by Good Energy. We water our plants with run off water from our garage.
Our deliveries are made in our shared work van with Green Builder. Our Family Business van runs on bio diesel. We share the van by swapping out our magnetic business signs.
We Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
We grow our Vegetables and Flowers on our Allotment plot and in our home garden to organic standards , which supports a healthy soil system and allows wildlife to thrive. Our garden is a haven for all sorts of wildlife. We sow British wild flower seeds at our allotment to encourage beneficial insects. We provide the bees with a safe house to rest.
We support local craftspeople and traditional crafts.
We are committed Vegetarians and work with Caterers (meat, vegetarian, vegan) who provide seasonable, sustainable and local produce.
Floristry can be extremely wasteful. Our bouquets are wrapped in home compostable packaging. We use brown paper and recycled paper and if we need a waterproof material wrap we can use biofilm. We don’t use non- biodegradable floral foam instead we use old fashioned methods – flower frogs, chicken wire to secure our flower arrangements. Out of preference we love arranging loose floral arrangements in kilner jars and turning the humble jam jar, tins, tea cups, old books and other items into fantastic vases. We don’t tie our bouquets with plastic bows, we only use vintage ribbons, lace and raffia.
Our crafted items for sale are packaged as simply as possible to reduce materials. We use recycled paper to package our decorations.
Our company stationery has been designed with a simple colour palette to reduce the need for ink. All our stationery is printed on recycled paper and where possible with vegetable based inks. Wherever possible we share invoices, receipts and company information digitally rather than through print.
We work with other local ethical suppliers to support others in Ethical business.
