About Nomads – Beautiful ethical clothing – Designed for a journey
Nomads was born from a chance meeting of the founders, Vicky Jackson and Duncan Harvey, whilst backpacking around India. They brought back a trunk stuffed full of colourful textiles and considered how they could turn these amazing treasures into clothing that looks beautiful and feels wonderful to wear.
Today it’s the combination of home and afar that makes each Nomads collection original. They are based in the wilds of Cornwall, inspired by the surrounding natural beauty. And yet they still love exploring new lands – eyes open for fresh colours and pretty patterns. Bohemian and contemporary; the details of their timeless designs are exquisite; natural organic cotton features throughout the collection. Ethically sourced, Nomads prides itself by following the principles of fair trade, respecting both the people that make their clothing and the environment they live and work in.

Since 1989, Nomads has been making fair trade clothing without compromise. Nomads believe in the policy of ‘trade not aid’ to help maintain a sustainable and profitable living. Factories are meeting with the standards as outlined by their fair trade policy. Nomads use GOTS certified organic cotton within their clothing range to help promote sustainable fashion as well as protecting the health and wellbeing of the growers. They also use environmentally approved dyes that are Azo free, recycle packaging and use recyclable postbags. Nomads are a member of the Ethical Fashion Forum (EFF) and the British Association of Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS). A percentage of Nomads profits are used to support TAMWED, a non-profit charity based in south India.
