Organic Baby Company Wins Tommy Award
Online specialist retailer ‘The Organic baby Company’ was awarded the prestigious Tommy’s and EBP Green Award for the most environmentally friendly family brand at the annual Let’s Get Baby Friendly Awards held at the Langham Hotel on 18th March.
Now in their 16th year, Tommy’s Let’s Get Baby Friendly Awards are designed to recognise the vital support that friends, family and health professionals offer couples who are experiencing difficulties with their pregnancy. The Awards also recognise the companies who are doing their bit to provide the most baby friendly services and products for families.
2011 saw the introduction of a new individual award, the Green Award for the most environmentally-friendly family brand. The Organic Baby Company was the proud winner of this award – sponsored by EBP (Environmental Business Products) – with almost half (40%) of the total votes for this section.
Andrew Thompson, who created The Organic Baby Company with his wife Suzanne, collected the ‘Green Award’ from Patrick Stead, founder and chief executive of Environmental Business Products, and Janey Lee Grace, best-known as one of the team from Steve Wright in the Afternoon on BBC Radio 2.
Andrew Thompson said: “We would like to take the opportunity to thank both Tommy’s and the award sponsors Environmental Business Products, as well as all the voters who supported and voted for our company. We regularly receive great feedback from parents about our products and service, but it’s fantastic to have that formally recognised.”
The ceremony was hosted by Janey Lee Grace, and the awards were presented by celebrities including Lee Mead, Terri Dwyer, Patsy Palmer, Harriet Scott, Nancy Sorrell, Sarah Cawood, Stacey Solomon, Samantha Bond, Tana Ramsay and Katy Hill.
