Saturday Is Off Grid Day
As part of Moving Planet, an international day of action and activities in contemplation of a fossil fuel free future, Monkton Wyld Court will be operating off-grid this Saturday.
The day will be devoted to off-grid activities: campfire cooking (and laundry!), candlemaking, learning about the stars and taking the time to talk and to think about things that matter to our future. Informal discussions will be scheduled on MWC projects including energy conservation options on site, likely locations for an outdoor classroom and eco-campsite, and the relative merits of various designs proposed for the new compost loo.
Guests arriving by self-propelled means will be eligible for a free lunch at 1pm on the day. A Hedgerow Basket Weaving workshop held on the day is one of a series of upcoming courses related to low-impact living including Soapmaking on 25/9 and Design & Build a Compost Loo from 30/9 to 2/10.
