A Serene Sunday At The Gardens

We all had a great day out at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens last weekend when we (GreenFinder) and Ethical Weddings hosted the region’s first Eco Wedding & Home Show. The sun shone (a little bit), there was a great variety of exhibitors and we had lots of lovely visitors come along to the event.

Highlights included our jazz singer Simon Patridge who wowed the crowds with his singing and created a lazy sunday morning ambience with his swing tunes closely followed by the fashion show. Local designer Sam from Dirty Pretty kicked off the show with her fabulous upcycled creations which included dresses made from net curtains and table cloths.

Wedding dresses from Motasem, Worn Once With Love and Julie Dutton were also showcased.

Green Garden Cafe and Kiss me Cupcakes provided delicious food on the day and there were also some interesting talks by Jen Marsden who is the author of the Green Guide to Weddings along with Sue Edgar and the Bodyshop.

For more information, news and views about the show visit the Eco Chic Show website and watch this space for more details of next year’s event.
