Another Green Event for the Midlands
The Redditch Alliance of Greens will be hosting their third annual green fair next month. The Redditch green fair will take place on Saturday 7th June at St Stephens Church in the town centre. This date has been specifically chosen because it is just 2 days after World Environment Day, a global day of awareness raising held annually on 5th June. Established by the United Nations and celebrated every year since 1972, WED has become the most globally recognised date in the green calendar. The WED slogan for 2008 is Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy. Recognising that climate change is becoming the defining issue of our era, UNEP is asking countries, companies and communities to focus on greenhouse gas emissions and how to reduce them.
