Clubbers Help Power Nightclub With Their Sweat
This month’s My Alter-Eco features a night club doing its best to reduce it’s carbon footprint. The Sustainable Dance club in Rotterdam is perhaps the greenest in the world and its not just low energy lightbulbs and solar power that makes it so energy efficient.
Sweat produced by clubbers and rainwater are used to help flush the toilets and the dancing feet of people on the dancefloor also create power to help run the club. The dancefloor which has sensors embedded in the floor generate electricity when activated by the stamping feet of disco dancers.
Sounds like a real green party!
