Fossil Fools Day
Roll up, roll up! The climate circus is in town.
Confronted with , unprecedented species extinction, droughts and extreme weather, threatens our very survival.
Whatever we consume – food, clothes, housing, agriculture, transportation, technology, holidays – almost all of our consumption is dependent on the continuous use of fossil fuels. The climate crisis is actually the crisis of consumerism. More than three-quarters of the world’s forests have already been cleared to feed our consumerism, and still there is no halt. Every year a further area, the size of , is cleared of virgin forests from the to , so that we can keep consuming.
In keeping with this,
With this in mind we are planning a fun march with a clown theme in town centre to show that we reject the proposed Clarendon Arcade and the impact it will have on , our roads and the environment. There will also be a bike ride to accompany the march.
Please join us at 12 noon outside Bath Place with a fancy dress theme of Fossil Fools (clowns, jesters etc). WE NEED AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO SHOW THAT LEAMINGTON AND THE PLANET DOES NOT WANT OR NEED A NEW ARCADE
