Green Christmas Inspiration
This time last year we featured some green Christmas tips but instead of regaling you with a long list of to do’s and what not to do’s this Christmas we have included a couple of ideas to inspire your creativity and community spirit this December.
Discover Your Local Country Market
Whilst everyone seems to know where their local farmer’s market is held, it is woth seeking out your local country market too. There are over 400 throughout the U.K which sell all manner of home grown fruit, veg, herbs, flowers and hand made crafts. The markets are an ideal place to pick up local jams and pickles for Christmas hampers and for seasonal vegetables for Christmas dinner. Read More about the Country markets here.

Christmas can be a hectic and manic time so what better way to unwind at the weekend than to go for a winter’s walk in the countryside or your local park. Forage for pine cones, holly, leaves and berries and either lay them in the middle of your table or on the top of your fireplace to create a natural and biodegradable centre piece.
Have Fun With Gingerbread Men
Finally, making gingerbread men for Chrismas gifts or as Christmas tree decorations (just put a hole at the top of the gingerbreads head before baking) is a lovely way to encourage children to give hand made gifts this season. Creating gingerbread men as edible Christmas Tree decorations also adds a personal and traditional touch to your Christmas tree. Here is a Gingerbread recipe to get you started.
