Green Energy for Local Hospitals
Community Energy Warwickshire (CEW) has just launched a share offer to fund the second phase of its solar-powered hospitals project.
The first phase, in 2011-12, installed solar panels on roofs at Stratford upon Avon and Warwick Hospitals. These have generated over 115,000 units of electricity over the past two years and saved around 58 tonnes of carbon.
CEW (a local energy co-operative that installed the panels) is now seeking to raise more funding to install solar panels on roofs at Leamington Spa Hospital at Whitnash and on a new building on the Warwick Hospital site.
You can join in the community energy revolution by investing in Phase 2 of the Solar-powered Hospitals scheme. The target is to raise £110,000 by the end of June 2014.
Investing in their new share offer, you will help to fund investment in two more solar arrays at local hospitals. CEW offer modest financial returns – but a big opportunity to generate renewable energy and help develop a sustainable business which will operate for the long-term benefit of local communities and the environment. The minimum share purchase is just £250 and CEW wlecome investment by new and existing members.
Community Share Offer opened on 31st March 2014 and closes on Sunday 29th June 2014.
