ToxicfreeBoutique is an online company committed to safer, greener and healthier nail polishes.
The founder, Victoria Rogers, trained and worked as a Contemporary Ballet Dancer travelling around the world. She became increasingly aware of the ingredients in the cosmetics that she wore on stage during performances. She started to explore what was in these formulas and was increasingly alarmed at reading the small print.
‘’I was fearful of what my skin and body may have been absorbing. In particular, the toxic smelling nail polishes; so I set out to find products which, by their very nature, were as ‘natural’ and toxic-free as possible. It was important that these products would be just as suitable to use as the main commercial brands’’.
“The first thing I discovered were water based nail polishes. Frustrated that I couldn’t find an affordable range in the UK, I developed, in between dance contracts, toxicfreeBoutique.” The Company sells a gorgeous range of water based nail polishes and a gentle remover. They are safe for children and for women who, for allergic reasons, have had to stop using nail polishes altogether. This is a safer gentler alternative, without compromising beautifully painted nails, in an exciting range of colours.
Most commercial nail polish formulas have a chemical composition similar to that of car paint. Because toxicfreeBoutique nail polishes are free from harsh chemicals and have a water base instead of a solvent base, they are practically odourless. Gone is the dizzying whiff of solvent odour; much better for us and the environment. The result, a fashionable range of colours and a much ‘greener’ nail polish.
