From Forest Floor To Wonderful Wooden Creations
Jonathan Leech is an artistic woodturner, producing bowls, dishes and platters. Each piece is individually designed, shaped and finished to bring out the character and beauty of the wood. Practical as well as beautiful, these unique pieces make the perfect wedding or anniversary gift – but you may find it hard to choose one and even harder to part with it once you’ve held it!
Jonathan has spent most of his life in the Cumbrian countryside and combines his other keen interests – cycling and walking – with searching for beautiful and unusual pieces of timber. All Jonathan’s wood is locally-sourced and is obtained sustainably, for example from fallen or storm-damaged trees. Off-cuts and shavings from the turning process are used for fuel and to power the kiln which dries his timber. All his pieces are finished with natural lemon-oil and Jonathan uses recycled packaging wherever possible.
Jonathan’s work can be purchased through his website, and in a number of Cumbrian galleries and National Trust shops. He also welcomes viewings – please get in touch via his website if you’d like to make an appointment.
