The Ruth Romano Natural Soap Collection

The handcrafted soaps from Ruth Romano are an award winning range which are made from natural ingredients and are perfect for ethical and eco-conscious consumers who want a natural, plastic free and cruelty free range of bar soaps.

I sampled the pure soap and the lemongrass soap which were packaged simply but elegantly in brown paper and colourful ribbon. There is no wasteful plastic wrap and being bar soaps much better for the environment. The range is also completely plant based and palm oil free so ideal for vegans.

Review

The soaps are created with delicious vitamin enriched oils, butters and essential oils to nourish and care for your skin.  As I have quite sensitive skin and a tendency to eczema I used the pure soap for handwashing. As a busy mum, chicken keeper and the designated dog walker of the house I do end up washing my hands a lot during an average day. I found the soap didn’t dry out my skin on my hands like conventional soaps do and the soap certainly didn’t irritate my skin so a real plus for me. I loved the scent of the lemongrass soap and found it a great pick me up first thing in the morning when showering.

The other soaps in the Ruth Romano range include lavender, cedarwood + pine, eucalyptus and sweet orange. Ruth also handcrafts natural honey, lime and cocoa butter lip balms too. The soaps are formulated without alcohol, lanolin, parabens, perfume, petrochemicals, phthalates,  sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) or synthetic fragrances.

Soap Making Courses

Ruth also runs soap making courses in Cheshire, giving you the opportunity to use the traditional cold process method of soap making. Students get to make a selection of soaps to take home with them and can also create shampoo bars too. The courses are rated very highly among participants and get great reviews which you read here.
