U.K Aware 2011
We always enjoy exhibiting at U.K Aware. The team behind the show are friendly and helpful and Danny who heads up the team is an inspiration, managing to organise the show alongside his full time role as a fire fighter. You can read more about Danny here. This year’s event was held at London Olympia and attracted thousands of people.
We always find the visitors to the show very receptive and approachable and they always pepper us with questions so we were really looking forward to unveiling our revamped showcase stall here. With reclaimed bits, bobs, baskets and recycled bunting (not to mention loads of info and fabulous examples of eco friendly products) we were pleased that lots of visitors stopped by to see what was on offer.
Our eco baby section was particularly popular and we enjoyed demonstrating the gorgeous cloth nappies on display from Baby Kind. We’ve had plenty of practice changing nappies with our little Cecily so it was lovely to be able to show the public how easy using cloth nappies really is.
Other popular categories included the composting, gardening, renewable energy and the green household section. The Baggee’s (an innovative device to remember your shopping bags) and the gorgeous hand cream from Amiya were popular too.
As always we got to meet some of our fellow exhibitors and see some fascinating stalls. We liked the free books from the Healthy Planet stand and loved the concept behind new start ups ‘The Borrowers & Ecomondo’ (borrowing and hiring stuff instead of buying new). ‘Disposal Know How’ a fact filled website with lots of info on how to recycle everything and anything is also one to watch.
U.K Aware is one of the leading green expos in the U.K and is set to get bigger and better. We certainly look forward to being part of it in 2012.
Our showcase stand will be visiting the Big Green Fair in Staffordshire on Saturday 16th April so if you are attending the show and are looking to green up your life do pop by.
