Ethical Fashion Review: The Little Black Dress From EKO

ethical fashion, organic dress, natural fibres

I was immediately taken with the Emily Jane dress when I saw it featured in a magazine. As it was from an ethical brand I was doubly impressed and loved the simplicity of the design and how it looked so elegant and stylish.

The Emily Jane dress by EKO (Earth Kind Originals) is such a classic, timeless design that it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. It makes for great, casual daywear teamed with plain or patterned leggings and can be worn for evenings out with strappy sandals and a smart top.

I particularly loved the versatility of the design and colour (deep navy) and how flexible you can be with it. When I received the dress in the spring it was still quite cool and as I was eager to wear it, I added leggings, boots and a cardigan, keeping me warm but also feeling smart and comfortable. In the summer you can simply wear it as it is or accessorise as you choose with a scarf or chunky jewellery. Simply add heels for a glam evening look too!

The dress is from the EKO clothing label who are based on the Cornish coast and whose ethical clothing collection is made from sustainable, feel good fabrics in sweatshop free conditions in Izmir, Turkey. Not surprisingly the Emily Jane dress is one of their best selling designs and is made from 95% Eucalyptus tencel which is an eco friendly fabric made from tree bark. Don’t let this put you off though, the material is soft and stretchy and washes really well.
